Internal Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical Financial Controller to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring KitchenSync maintains strong financial controls, compliance standards, and accurate financial reporting as we continue to scale. The Financial Controller will design, implement, and monitor internal control systems related to financial reporting, safeguard company assets, and partner with leadership to support sustainable financial growth in a regulated and fast-moving environment.

Pay: MXN$80,000 - $90,000 gross per month

Work type: hybrid (2 days working from home, 3 days working from the office)

Key Responsibilities:

Process & Systems Oversight (Financial Focus)

• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Product teams to strengthen financial workflows (AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition, reconciliations).
• Review and improve processes around expense management, vendor payments, and client billing to ensure accurate financial recording.

Bookkeeping & Core Accounting

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash.
• Record daily financial transactions including invoices, payments, expenses, and revenue.
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes — from vendor payments to client billing follow-up.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure books are closed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in payroll processing and related financial reporting.
• Maintain organized financial records to support audits and compliance with financial regulations.

Risk Management (Financial Reporting Focus)

• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial reporting risks.
• Establish clear policies around approvals, authorizations, and segregation of duties specifically for financial transactions.
• Develop financial risk dashboards and regular reporting for leadership.

Reporting & Communication

• Prepare clear reports on internal control effectiveness and financial findings for executive leadership and the board.
• Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and regulators regarding financial controls and reporting.
• Train and support team members on financial compliance and internal control best practices related to financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in financial controls, financial audit, or financial compliance (ideally within fintech, SaaS, or restaurant/foodservice finance).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial risk frameworks, and internal control best practices for financial reporting.
• Experience with financial systems (ERP, accounting software, BI tools).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and balance structure with flexibility.
