International Sales Representative – North America (Power Cables & Conductors)
Type: Remote (Global position) | Full-time / Term Contract

cables and transmission conductors, serving utilities, EPCs and infrastructure projects.
From LV/MV/HT power cables to advanced conductors such as ACSR, AAAC and AL59,
Urjatech supports grid modernisation, renewable integration and network expansion with
reliable, cost-effective solutions manufactured in India for global markets.
We are now expanding aggressively into North America and are looking for a senior sales
professional to lead this effort.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for establishing and expanding Urjatech’s presence across the
United States and Canada. The primary focus will be positioning our UL-compliant power
cables and advanced conductors (including HTLS and ACSR families) with:
• Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs)
• Public utilities and municipal utilities
• Large EPC and transmission contractors involved in grid modernization and transmission projects
This is a hands-on, hunter role for someone who understands the North American utility
ecosystem and can build a pipeline from zero to scale.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development & Account Acquisition
• Identify, qualify and win new business with IOUs, public utilities, renewable developers
and large EPCs across the US and Canada.
• Map key accounts (utilities, EPCs, developers) and build multi-level relationships
(procurement, engineering, project management).
• Develop a clear go-to-market plan for Urjatech in North America including target
segments, key accounts and revenue milestones.
2. Product & Solution Selling
Position Urjatech’s UL-compliant power cables and advanced conductors (ACSR, AAC, AAAC, AL59, HTLS, etc.) as technically sound and cost-effective solutions for:
- Grid reinforcement and reconductoring
- New transmission lines and substations
- Renewable evacuation and interconnection projects.
- Work closely with the technical team in India to respond to client specifications, provide technical clarifications and support type-test / sample approvals.
3. Regulatory & Standards Compliance
- Support customers in understanding product compliance against relevant North American standards (UL, ASTM, ANSI, NEMA).
- Coordinate with internal teams and logistics partners to handle import/export requirements, including duties, tariffs and shipping documentation.
4. Channel & Partnership Management
- Identify and onboard local distributors, agents or channel partners where appropriate to improve last-mile reach and service levels.
- Structure workable distributor/agency arrangements ensuring pricing discipline, territory focus and just-in-time delivery for projects.
5. Tendering, Bids & Commercial Closure
- Lead the response to RFPs/RFQs for major transmission, distribution and renewable projects.
- Work with Urjatech’s commercial team to structure competitive offers while maintaining profitability.
- Drive the end-to-end bid cycle: pre-qualification, proposal, clarifications, negotiations and contract award.
6. Reporting & Collaboration
- Maintain an active pipeline with clear stages, values and closure timelines in a CRM or structured reporting format.
- Provide regular market feedback on pricing trends, competitor positioning, standards changes and upcoming projects.
- Collaborate closely with the International Business and Operations teams in India on forecasting, production planning and delivery commitments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have
Experience: Minimum 5 years of front-line sales or business development experience in the electrical, wire & cable, or utility infrastructure sector within the US or Canadian market.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of transmission and distribution products such as ACSR, AAC, AAAC and related power cables.
- Familiarity with US and Canadian grid and product standards (ANSI, NEMA, ASTM, UL; CSA familiarity is a plus).
- Proven Sales Track Record: Demonstrated success in winning and growing accounts with utilities, renewable developers or EPCs.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong negotiation and contract-closing capability.
Work Style:
- “Hunter” mentality with high drive and ownership.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote set-up while collaborating across time zones (IST / EST / PST).
Highly Desirable
• Existing network / relationships with procurement, engineering or project teams at major US utilities and/or large EPC firms.
• Prior experience introducing an overseas manufacturer or new brand into the North American utility market.
• Experience with grid modernisation, reconductoring, HTLS applications or renewable energy integration projects.
Location, Travel & Work Authorisation
• Work Location: Remote (home office) from anywhere across the globe.
• Travel: Willingness to travel within North America for customer meetings, conferences, trade shows and site visits (indicative 25–40% travel). Occasional travel to India for strategy and factory visits may be required.
• Work Authorisation: You must already have the legal right to work in your country of residence (Urjatech will not be able to sponsor work permits for this role).
