Job Summary
Under the direction of the program director, or clinic supervisor, performs interpreting and translating services of oral and/or written communications between a source and a target language (or languages) in a medical setting.
Core Job Responsibilities
Provide interpreting / translating services for patients, employees, and patient decision makers. Interpret or translate all documents presented by or to patients, staff, and other individuals. Review translated material for accuracy of meaning, grammar and syntax. Answer inquiries from patients, community agencies, and individuals and interpret and explain words and phrases. Call patients with appointment confirmations, updated test results, prescription refills and related information. Ensure communication flows from patient to Language Assistance Program Office.
