We are looking for an entry level associate to support the IP development of the company.


Mission :


Your main mission will be to support Ahlstrom's intellectual property activities by providing research and organizational assistance for intellectual property related matters including patent filing, prosecution, competitive patent analysis, and oppositions. The focus of the team is Intellectual Property rights and asset management, legal/ IP contracts, corporate governance, training, mergers and acquisitions, and IP/legal project management. Position requires technical background, high degree of organization skill, computer and database management expertise as well as document management tasks such as document organization and filing to provide assistance to the team. The ideal candidate is energetic, flexible, and highly organized. Must be able to juggle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive attitude.

Main Tasks

  • Technical/ Organizational support for Intellectual Property Functions.

  • Docketing of invention disclosures, patent filings and grants

  • Break Invention disclosure into key features and commission patentability search reports

  • Put feature comparison tables together for prior art to assist in prosecution/ opposition

  • Assist with technical searches, finding relevant evidence

  • Updating patent family claim charts to assist in patent prosecution

  • Conduct analysis of technical information and provide summary reports to utilize in patent drafting, opposition, other IP matters

  • Support patent prosecution/ opposition work by providing subject matter support and analysis

  • Prepare and maintain documents to support other operational needs

  • Create electronic and physical files, ensuring timely communication, and filing

  • Maintain database, physical and electronic filing systems including rules update for IP management database to keep up with annuity payment due dates

  • Editing and/or comparing documents (redlining) and assist with commercial/legal correspondence including POAs, apostilles.

  • Support for Annuity Payments for patents, Invoice Processing, Remunerations.

  • Prepare quarterly reports on powerpoint based on data from the database.

    • Your Profile :

  • BS/MS degree in the field of Chemistry/ Material science/ Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with interest in growing into legal side

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)

  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to work with internal and external deadlines

  • Ability to work individually, on a project or a team environment
