Job Description
Role Specification:
Quality Leadership & Systems:
- Lead In-Process QA teams for Optical connectivity products, ensuring process compliance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure preparing and managing Quality Department plans and budgets.
- Drive adherence to SOPs and quality parameters; oversee creation, review, and revision of SOPs as needed.
- Ensure robust execution of quality checks for incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods, address deviations promptly.
Customer & Compliance Focus:
- Ensure on-time product dispatches by proactively resolving quality-related issues.
- Analyze customer feedback from CRM systems, drive root cause analyses (RCA), and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Provide technical support to resolve customer issues in coordination with internal departments.
- Maintain and upgrade system and product certifications in line with internal and external compliance requirements.
Technical Expertise & Innovation:
- Maintain strong technical knowledge of Optical Connectivity Solutions, including components, assembly processes, and product performance parameters, to ensure quality standards are met and to support product and process improvement initiatives.
- Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and quality management best practices.
- Actively participate in New Product Development (NPD) and provide quality-related insights.
- Lead and guide vendor technical evaluations and make recommendations to Business and SCM teams.
- Drive a culture of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Total Quality Management (TQM), and continuous improvement aligned with Sterlite values.
People Leadership:
- Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and mentor team members to build a high-performing Quality function.
- Identify training needs for self and team; create and execute training plans.
- Lead recruitment for open positions within the team.
- Drive short-term and long-term quality improvement projects.
Process Excellence:
- Ensure end-to-end adherence to engineering change management for any process or raw material modification.
- Conduct regular internal process and product audits as per defined specifications.
- Champion a zero-defect culture by ensuring timely closure of customer complaints.
- Promote use of Six Sigma, Lean, and other quality tools to achieve operational excellence.
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes:
- Overall experience in Quality functions within large manufacturing organisations & in Optical Connectivity manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience managing large, cross-functional, and global teams.
- Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles; Green Belt certification preferred.
- Sound knowledge of TQM, ISO, and product certification processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communicator, fluent in English.
- Willingness for travel to customer or supplier sites when required.
