- Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product
- Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
- Identify the appropriate software architecture based on the requirements and design elements contained in a system specification. Define all aspects of development cycle from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
- Record software architecture in a software architecture document using use cases. Maintain and evolve software architecture documents based on evolving system requirements and industry trends and technologies. Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team
- Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
