Role Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Lead - Website & AWS to take ownership of our public-facing web presence and the underlying cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for the entire lifecycle of our corporate and customer-facing websites, including design, development, security, performance optimization, and reliable hosting management. The ideal candidate is a proficient website developer and a certified cloud engineer who can bridge the gap between application development and infrastructure management.


Key responsibilities for the role:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of secure, high-performance websites (primarily WordPress).
  • Write clean, efficient code for custom themes and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Manage and optimize the website's data layer, focusing on MySQL/SQL database performance.
  • Oversee all CMS administration, including updates, migrations, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Design, provision, and maintain highly available AWS cloud infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Implement and enforce robust security protocols for both the web application and hosting infrastructure.
  • Optimize site performance using CDNs (CloudFront), caching, and AWS auto-scaling features.
  • Set up comprehensive monitoring (CloudWatch) and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures.
  • Manage Linux server administration and web servers for hosting.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of combined experience in web development and cloud infrastructure management.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting, securing, and managing services on AWS.
  • Expert-level proficiency with WordPress CMS (custom theme/plugin development, core architecture).
  • Proven experience with Linux server administration and web servers.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
  • Experience in cost optimization and resource tagging in AWS.
  • A recognized WordPress Certified Developer credential will be strongly preferred.
