Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide full performance and expert advice, guidance and
direction in the area of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the Information Technology Service (ITS) of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). This position will also plan, develop, maintain and enhance departmental GIS systems. This position receives general supervision from a DP Assistant Director while performing the full spectrum of application and database development with Geographic Information integration. This position supports the department goals of providing application and data support associated with land conservation and stewardship of DNR's real estate interests (, state forests and parks, wildlife management areas, fish management areas, conservation easements).
