The IT Procurement Specialist will lead IT goods and services procurement for efficient value, quality, and performance. The role involves leading all aspects of the sourcing lifecycle—from identifying business needs and engaging with team members internally, to negotiating sophisticated contracts with key IT partners. The successful candidate will strategically align procurement activities with business objectives, orchestrate cost optimization initiatives, proactively handle supply risks, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of IT projects across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Planning
Lead IT procurement for related operational and capital expenses across regions.
Align procurement with business goals and technology roadmaps.
Collaborate with internal teams to define needs and timelines.
Develop sourcing plans for IT categories (e.g. telecommunications, consulting).
Identify savings opportunities and drive global cost optimization.
Deliver procurement strategies ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Supplier & Risk Management
Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and service.
Lead contract negotiations and coordinate vendor relationship management.
Lead tenders, supplier audits, and performance reviews.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk standards.
Supervise contract expirations and lead renewal processes.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Improve procurement processes and adopt standard methodologies.
Ensure adherence to internal policies and procurement standards.
Supervise critical metrics and assist in ongoing improvement initiatives.
Analyze trends and variances to support decision-making.
Cost & Budget Control
Supervise procurement budgets and identify savings.
Report on spend, savings, supplier performance, and critical metrics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strategic mindset with ability to align procurement with business goals.
Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
Experience with supplier selection, tenders, and risk management.
Analytical skills to analyze trends, spend, and performance metrics.
Internal and External Relationships
Internal: IT Department, Finance & Controlling, Legal & Compliance, Project Managers
External: Technology Vendors & Service Providers, Consultants & Third-Party Advisors
