Hensall Co-op is seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Software Developer with strong expertise in React, Angular, Node.js, Python, and SQL to join our growing team. This is a fully remote position reporting directly to the Technical Project Manager but, the ideal candidate will be located within reasonable travel distance of Hensall, Ontario.

As a key contributor, you'll work across the stack to build, improve, and maintain web-based applications. You'll be involved in every stage of the development lifecycle — from planning and design to implementation and deployment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications using React.js and AngularJS.
  • Develop scalable and secure backend services, and APIs using Python and Node.js.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support application requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve code quality.
  • Document technical specifications, application designs, and development processes.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply this knowledge to improve current and future projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Solid experience with Node.js, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational SQL databases (e.g., MySQL or PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in full stack web development.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Practical experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, CodePipeline) considered an asset.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitHub AWS integrations) considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) considered an asset.
