Job Summary

Cadence is seeking a highly qualified Server Farm Engineer to support, manage, and enhance the compute farm environment. The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience with cloud solutions and demonstrated expertise in collaborating directly with R&D software development teams to optimize their working environment.

Job Responsibilities
+ Provide support across multiple geographic locations to serve user communities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
+ Focus on enhancing R&D productivity and delivering customer success.
+ Develop and improve server farm tools and scripts.
+ Operate, administer, and continually enhance the internal compute farm and associated cloud platforms (IBM/GCP/AWS).
+ Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and efficiency improvements of these environments.


Experience and Technical Skills Required
+ A minimum of 8 years of technical experience with scripting and code compilation in Linux environments (Python, Perl, Shell, C, GCC…etc).
+ Kernel & TCP/IP Fine tuning, experience in Compiler Optimization
+ Advanced debugging and troubleshooting capabilities for complex issues.
+ At least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience managing global or regional compute farms and/or hybrid cloud environments with 1,000+ servers.
+ A minimum of 4+ years' experience coordinating support, strategies, projects, and operations within a global team structure.
+ Extensive knowledge of LSF spanning from Farm to Cloud is highly desirable.
+ In-depth understanding and proven operational experience with compute farms, job submission/management technologies, cloud platforms, and related management tools.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate directly with R&D software development teams to develop solutions that enhance workflow optimization (Direct EDA experience preferred).
+ Proven capacity and performance management skills, including workload optimization in partnership with R&D, and development and maintenance of key performance indicators.
+ Strong process orientation, as evidenced by documentation practices, change management, incident response, and problem resolution.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
