Job Description

The IT Support Officer provides day‑to‑day technical support to staff and students at the Jane Street campus, primarily supporting SAE, ACAP, and divisional teams based on‑site. The role also provides secondary support to other Brisbane locations, including C&I Sales & Admissions site at the Ann St, as required.

Working closely with the IT Team Leader, this position ensures reliable delivery of IT services, assists in maintaining campus technology infrastructure, and contributes to an excellent user experience across classrooms, offices, and meeting spaces.

IT Support Services

  • Provide technical support for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Support classroom technology, meeting rooms, and shared IT facilities.
  • Respond to service desk tickets, walk‑ups, and phone/email enquiries.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Team Lead or relevant technical teams.

System and Hardware Maintenance

  • Install and configure computers, peripherals, and classroom AV equipment.
  • Maintain device inventory and ensure accurate asset tracking.
  • Assist in setting up and testing new staff equipment (laptops, monitors, docks).

Customer Service and Communication

  • Deliver responsive and professional IT support to all users.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Provide on‑site presence during business hours to ensure availability and support continuity.

Administration and Documentation

  • Record all incidents and resolutions in the service desk system.
  • Maintain local documentation, user guides, and setup procedures.
  • Assist with small projects, moves, and technology upgrades as directed.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Diploma or Certificate‑level qualification in IT (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support or service desk environment.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Apple Mac, and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, printing and common AV/conferencing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, time management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to work independently or within a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in education or multi‑campus environments.
  • Exposure to SCCM, JAMF, or Intune device management.
  • Understanding of basic networking (Wi‑Fi, VLANs, IP configuration).
  • ITIL Foundations certification or equivalent understanding of service processes.
