Roles and Responsibilities

Planning and Execution of NVH Testing of multi-source components, mass production
vehicles and new models. Assessing the compliance of the models against the regulatory
targets and analysis for variability. Test procedures preparation for the validation of vehicles for NVH and verification of the
vehicles for NVH Benchmarking for competitor models.
VALIDATION OF VEHICLES FOR NVH – Mass Production, New models, Multi-sourcing, Conformity of Production

Planning testing activities

Review of standards, procedures

Ensuring timely calibration and maintenance of equipment

Participation in New Model ride events/Internal Quality Checks

Conducting static and dynamic trials as per specifications including parts / sensors installation, data capture and post data analysis

Noise source path identification using transfer path and contribution study - Sound intensity mapping for engine noise localization

Ability to detect power train noise and vibration, exhaust noise

Experimental Modal analysis and mode shapes

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT FOR NVH EVALUATION – Equipment for noise and vibration measurement, roller bench etc.,

Identifying the latest equipment required for testing

Study, compare and finalize the equipment

Techno-commercial comparison , ROI establishment ,Installation and Commissioning

BENCHMARKINGEVALUATION - Assessing NVHperformance of competitorvehicles with respect to targets

Identify each category and establishbenchmarking

Benchmarking, target setting,component level cascading

FIELD FAILURE ANALYSIS &QUALITY IMPROVEMENT FORNVH – Analysis of NVH fieldfailures and quality issues,proposing countermeasures

Root cause analysis through systematicapproach

Countermeasure validation trials in protolots and subsequent tooled up partsvalidation
