Journeyman Lineman

PURPOSE:

•   The purpose of the Lineman is to construct and maintain all areas of electric distribution in compliance with code, to follow safety guidelines and to promote good public relations to DES customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Construct, maintain, operate and repair all aspects of electrical distribution system and substations while following all safety guidelines and procedures including participating in job briefings.    Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, wear and maintain PPE equipment, and make safety the first priority.


• String wires, climb poles, work out of a bucket, set poles and anchors, hang transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, cross arms and insulators, carry heavy equipment, and work outside in all kinds of weather conditions.
