Main Duties
- Operate centrifuge according to standard protocol.
- Collect and receive specimens and records information about adequacy of samples and rejection criteria.
- Preparing specimens & samples and distributing them to respective departments.
- Assisting in other departments as per requirement.
- Following BMW protocols strictly.
- Maintain patient and company confidentiality.
- Receive samples for all disciplines.
- Assign laboratory numbers and carry out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in departmental audits.
- Comply with health and safety legislation and be aware of the responsibilities of employee in this context.
- To become familiar with the day to day organization of the laboratory as it affects your work. You should be aware of the functions of the members of staff in the laboratory as they affect your work.
- To attend laboratory meetings as required.
- To undertake such work as you are assigned in a careful and efficient way and in compliance with the quality management system.
- To communicate in a friendly, helpful and non-prejudicial manner in your dealings with staff clients and or customer as you will be regarded as a representative of your laboratory as well as the company and you should behave accordingly.
- To be aware of and abide by the rules and codes of the laboratory. This is particularly important in the case of health and safety and fire procedures.
- To behave in a professional manner and cooperate with all other members of staff at all times.
- You will be trained for the work you are expected to do. Do not attempt any work unless you are confident that you can carry it out properly.
- To maintain high standards of work within your laboratory.
- Other duties as assigned by the HOD/Laboratory Manager.
- To participate in an annual management review.
- Previous experience in a medical laboratory
- Theoretical & practical knowledge in all departments of laboratory
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
