JOB PURPOSE


To maximize group profitability through power sale and to support energy trading business with analytical and Technical ability.

Key Performance Indicators



Short Term Power Sales:



  • Power Sales through Bilateral & Collective transactions (IEX, PXIL & HPX).

  • Strategy for power sales -Power exchange/Bilateral

  • Client acquisition

  • Scheduling of power as per the grid code

  • Sale of untied capacity from internal assets.

  • Revenue Maximization through TAM/LDC

  • Regular interaction with officials of various SEBs, CERC, SERCs, SLDCs, RLDCs, RPCs, Power grid on electricity related techno-commercial issue

  • DISCOM Relationship, Policy advocacy, Payment follow-up and Dispute settlement



Volumes (MUs) & Per Unit realization



Power Market Regulatory and Intelligence



  • Regulatory Update, keeping team updated on any regulatory updates like GNA/T-GNA, Act and policy.

  • Analysis of current short term/Long Term market conditions, transmission Corridor availability.

  • Electricity Act 2003, GRID Code, Open Access Regulation, Tariff Regulation, UI/Deviation Settlement Mechanism, Connectivity Regulation, GNA/T-GNA Charges and Losses Regulation.

  • Study of generation and transmission outages, short term volume transacted and prices.

  • CERC Form 4,MIS reports & reports on CEA, IEX & PXIL



  • Keeping and providing updates regarding transmission congestion/MTOA/ and keeping track on all routes of power scheduling.

Power Sale (Optimization & Reporting) 



  • Power sales optimization dashboard-compilation and analysis



  • MIS Technical Reports/Studies/PPTs



  •  Renewable Energy portfolio management-REC reporting and updates

  • Preparation of management dashboard against revenue from power sales and portfolio management.

  • Sales mix, sales strategy, sales target, risk/inhibiting factors towards power sale


Keeping track on internal power sales and per unit costing and competitive analysis against the same.



Revenue & realization



Short Term Bidding /Market Capture



  • Checking/Monitoring/Co-ordination for submission of bids on live bidding platform

  • Provide market intelligence on grid status, short term demand supply position, transmission congestion, UI status and fixing bidding rates of internal & external power for bidding in power exchanges

  • Contract preparation for new business areas like REC/ Power exchange

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE










  • Graduate in Electrical Engineering. MBA in Power management Preferred.


  • 3 - 7 years in all the aspects of power trading domain, commercial and business development department of power trading.
