Junior Planner

Reporting directly to the Manager of Community Services/Planner, the Junior Planner is responsible for processing land use planning applications from initial public inquiries through to development approvals to ensure that all inquiries, proposals are moving forward in a timely manner and in accordance with legislative requirements.

Primary responsibilities

• Administers the processing of development applications and Town Initiatives in accordance with the Planning Act for Official Plan amendments, Zoning By-law amendments, Site Plan Control, Subdivision, Part Lot Control, Minor Variance and Consent to Sever and any other applications.
• Drafts planning reports for a variety of applications and Public Notices, including maps and draft amendments and circulation lists. Prepares adoption notices and explanatory notes for Zoning by-laws and Official Plan Amendments and variances and consents for public notification.
