Your work environment at EXP

A University Grad Hire will primarily assist with various Project Controls tasks, aiming to enhance their understanding of global Project Controls position can be located in our Florida, Texas or Atlanta office.

Project Controls is a crucial function within EXP, offering services in Estimating, Planning and Scheduling, Cost Engineering, Management Information & Reporting/Data Visualization. Responsibilities include supporting cost estimation, analysis and control activities, as well as schedule development, maintenance, Progress reporting and monitoring, and other duties necessary to support Projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Helping collect, sort, and organize cost data for active projects
  • Assisting with routine tasks related to cost monitoring, cost control standards, and reporting
  • Gathering estimate inputs and preparing portions of project budgets, with guidance
  • Applying unit rates to quantities to help calculate total cost estimates
  • Conducting basic quantity takeoffs from engineering or construction drawings
  • Compiling and verifying quantity data for comparisons, reconciliations, or estimates
  • Assisting in preparing and presenting cost and schedule reports for team meetings
  • Supporting the development of project schedules, including defining activities and estimating durations
  • Collecting workforce and quantity data to support progress tracking and performance reporting
  • Identifying relevant information from various disciplines to support cost and schedule updates
  • Reporting schedule variances or changes within assigned tasks
  • What your experience looks like

  • Recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Analytics, or Information Analytics
  • Strong academic performance and relevant coursework
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous internship or co‑op experience in engineering, construction, or project management is an asset (not required)
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings, project management principles, or construction processes is helpful
  • Demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership—whether through academics, sports, clubs, volunteer work, or part‑time roles
  • A growth mindset and interest in developing expertise in cost estimating, scheduling, analytics, and project reporting
