Role Overview

GEMGEM is seeking a results-oriented SEO Executive to join our growth team. You will manage and optimize our organic search strategy to increase visibility, traffic, and user acquisition within the US C2C marketplace . Working closely with content and product teams, you will ensure that marketplace listings, category pages, and blog content rank high for competitive and transactional keywords.

This role is ideal for a detail-focused and analytical SEO professional who thrives in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Page & Technical SEO

  • Conduct comprehensive site audits to identify and resolve technical issues (crawl errors, page speed, mobile-friendliness, schema markup).
  • Optimize marketplace listings, category pages, and blog content for US-centric keywords.
  • Implement structured data ( Schema.org ) for e-commerce/product pages to enhance rich snippets in search results.
  • Maintain internal linking structures to distribute link equity effectively across thousands of pages.

2. Keyword Strategy & Content

  • Conduct in-depth keyword research to identify high-volume, high-intent transactional keywords relevant to the US C2C market.
  • Identify content gaps and collaborate with content teams to produce SEO-friendly guides, blog posts, and landing pages.
  • Optimize metadata (titles, meta descriptions, headers) based on user search intent to improve CTR.

3. Off-Page SEO & Link Building

  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks from niche-relevant US websites, blogs, and forums.
  • Monitor backlink profiles and disavow toxic links to maintain domain authority growth.

4. Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and report key SEO metrics using Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs .
  • Monitor keyword rankings and provide weekly/monthly reports on traffic growth, organic conversions, and ROI.
  • Stay updated with the latest Google algorithm changes and SEO trends, especially for e-commerce and marketplaces.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of proven experience in SEO, preferably in e-commerce, marketplace, or classifieds environments.
  • Strong understanding of US search trends, consumer behavior, and cultural nuances .
  • Proficiency with SEO tools: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console .
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data in Google Analytics and Excel .
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for troubleshooting technical issues is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
