Job Description
The Role
The Ideal candidate resides in one of the following regions in Germany: Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony or Berlin-Brandenburg
Joining Moderna offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team that's revolutionizing medicine through mRNA technology, with a diverse pipeline of development programs across various diseases.
As an employee, you'll be part of a continually growing organization, working alongside exceptional colleagues and strategic partners worldwide, contributing to global health initiatives.
Moderna's commitment to advancing the technological frontier of mRNA medicines ensures a challenging and rewarding career experience, with the potential to make a significant impact on patients' lives worldwide.
As a Territory Commercial Manager, you will take full ownership of the commercial performance of Moderna’s vaccine portfolio across your assigned region in Germany. This is far more than a traditional field representative role — you will operate as a territory business leader, creating and scaling new models of HCP and pharmacy engagement. You will define strategy, execute independently, and reimagine what a commercial presence looks like in the age of digital-first healthcare. This is a field-based role with home-office flexibility and requires travel primarily within the region, with some national travel as needed.
Here's What You’ll Do
Your key responsibilities will be:
Delivering on territory-level sales and market share targets for Moderna’s vaccine portfolio.
Owning end-to-end territory and key account management, independently shaping plans based on regional vaccination dynamics such as seasonality or rural distribution.
Establishing and expanding strategic partnerships with physicians, vaccination centers, and pharmacies, looking beyond conventional engagement channels.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Designing and implementing new commercial engagement formats including digital HCP outreach, hybrid event strategies, online/offline models, and pharmacy-led initiatives.
Acting as an internal advocate for digital and scalable engagement solutions within your region.
Continuously analyzing local market, competitive intelligence, and customer needs to shape actionable territory-specific strategies.
Traveling extensively within the assigned region, with flexibility to operate effectively from a home-office environment.
The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:
“We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.”
In this role, you won’t be handed a playbook — you’ll write it. Your territory is your business, and success depends on your ability to think and act like an entrepreneur: agile, accountable, and forward-looking.“We digitize everywhere possible using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients.”
Your ability to champion and implement digital engagement solutions will be central to transforming how Moderna connects with HCPs and pharmacies. From hybrid events to scalable outreach tools, you’ll help modernize commercial execution with a digital-first mindset.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Completed university degree in business administration, pharmaceutical sciences, natural sciences, or a comparable qualification.
Several years of professional experience (min. 5–7 years) in field sales or territory management within the pharmaceutical industry; ideally with experience in vaccines or infectious diseases.
Proven track record in developing new channels or commercial pathways beyond traditional models.
Strong digital affinity with experience using and building digital tools/channels (e.g., CRM systems, e-detailing, HCP online engagement, messaging platforms).
Entrepreneurial mindset, strong ownership mentality, and high willingness to travel and work flexibly.
Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills; fluent German and English skills are required.
