Although the role is based at our Italian office, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in advancing compliance knowledge for chemical safety, sustainability and environmental regulations, supporting our prestigious customers to meet global sustainability and regulatory requirements.
Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on global regulations related to chemical substances, hazardous materials, eco-design directives, and environmental impact standards. Provide guidance on compliance strategies, monitor emerging sustainability requirements, and manage documentation within regulatory databases. Support interpretation of complex regulations and prepare executive summary reports on changes and their impact on customers and business.
Under general supervision and guidance, act as a point of contact with internal teams and industry stakeholders to obtain and maintain knowledge of chemical and environmental compliance frameworks. Contribute to identifying new business opportunities by delivering high-quality research and tailored solutions that enable sustainable product strategies and ensure adherence to global standards across multiple markets and product categories.
+ As a UL GMA Knowledge Associate, you will:
+ Provide comprehensive and research reports based on the required regulatory information.
+ Provide point-of-access support to address any local acceptance issues under supervision and guidance.
+ Coordinate research/studies including multiple products, regulations, countries under supervision and guidance.
+ May act as owner of certain geographic areas or regulations under supervision and guidance.
+ Cooperate with industries and colleagues to support development GMA knowledge services and customized solutions.
+ Supports actions related to GMA business expansion scope, track opportunity and business results.
+ May supervise the day-to-day delivery of high-quality knowledge services under supervision and guidance.
+ Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
+ Maintain expertise and provide guidance on regulations related to:
+ REACH, RoHS, TSCA, GHS
+ WEEE, EcoDesign, Packaging Waste, Circular Economy directives
+ Perform other duties as directed.
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum 2 years of related experienced.
+ Bachelors Degree Engineering, International Relations, or other specialization based on the specific coverage, preferred.
+ In-depth knowledge of international chemical and environmental regulations, including but not limited to:
+ REACH, RoHS, TSCA, GHS
+ WEEE, EcoDesign, Packaging Waste, Circular Economy directives
+ Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
+ Ability to interpret technical documentation and compliance requirements.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
+ Proficiency in English (mandatory).
+ Additional languages are considered a plus
