Overview
An UHNW family with three school-aged children, who split their time between NYC and the Hamptons, is seeking a highly capable and polished house manager to start ASAP. This is a full-time opportunity, and the schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, with occasional later evenings and weekends required. The family spends the majority of the year in their primary residence in NYC, and July and August at their additional residence in the Hamptons. As such, candidates should have their own accommodation in NYC, but private accommodation will be provided in the Hamptons (where candidates are welcome to bring their own families/ pets to stay).
Responsibilities
This role demands a consistent and elevated standard of execution and delivery of an exceptional guest experience.A primary area of focus will be quality control as it pertains to laundry management, ensuring garments are cared for meticulously and never mishandled. The candidate will lead and mentor a small housekeeping team (2–3 housekeeping staff per property), fostering excellence and teamwork.Candidates should be able to identify operational gaps and implement effective training to raise standards uniformly across all properties.Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: managing household inventories, restocking essentials like groceries, cleaning supplies, and other household items, ensuring there are fresh flowers, curating flawless table settings, and providing general support wherever it’s required to ensure a seamless hospitality experience for both family and guests.Candidates should exhibit a leadership style grounded in positivity, collaboration, and emotional intelligence, commanding respect, not fear, and building a team culture that’s rooted in professionalism and mutual respect.Candidates do not need to engage directly with the Principals on routine or behind-the-scenes issues (e.g., pest control or building maintenance); instead, their focus should remain squarely on service, presentation, and team performance.
