The L1 Data Operations Analyst is responsible for monitoring, operating, and supporting enterprise data pipelines and reporting systems to ensure SLA adherence and uninterrupted business reporting.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor DataStage ETL jobs, data pipelines, and batch schedules

  • Identify and respond to job failures, delays, and alerts

  • Perform job restarts and reruns as per SOPs

  • Validate data loads using basic SQL checks (row counts, file arrival)

  • Monitor Cognos report refresh and availability

  • Log, update, and manage incidents in ticketing systems

  • Escalate issues to L2 with complete diagnostic context

  • Participate in shift handovers and operational reporting

Required Skills

  • Exposure to ETL / data pipeline operations

  • Basic understanding of Data Warehouse & Data Lake concepts

  • Familiarity with IBM DataStage (monitoring & execution)

  • Basic SQL for validation

  • Ability to read logs and error messages

  • Experience with incident/ticketing tools

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Process-driven mindset

  • Comfortable working in support operations

  • Ability to handle incidents calmly
