Job Description
We are seeking for a lab technician to join our client's site in Kewdale. The lab technician is expected to support quality assurance and microbiological testing within the production facility. This role is ideal for someone with a laboratory or microbiology background who enjoys hands‑on work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Our client is one of the world’s leading beverage companies, supplying some of the most recognised brands across Australia. We are currently seeking reliable and motivated candidates to join our team in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Rotational shift
3 weeks day shift, 1 week afternoon shift
Day shift: 6AM‑2PM
Afternoon shift: 2PM‑10PM
Pay rate
Day shift: $40
Afternoon shift: $46
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological testing on various Coca‑Cola products in the laboratory
- Collect product samples from the production area and prepare samples for incubation
- Place and monitor samples in incubators and record results
- Perform product, syrup, and water testing, including calibration of testing equipment
- Compile and maintain spreadsheets in line with quality assurance processes
- Record, analyse, and report data accurately
- Use a range of laboratory techniques to support qualitative and quantitative analysis of samples, raw materials, reagents, and finished products
- Sterilise laboratory equipment using an autoclave and operate a Bunsen burner safely
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of laboratory instruments and work areas
- Assist with tracking laboratory supplies, consumables, chemicals, and waste disposal
- Support the production line when required, including troubleshooting quality or process issues
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the day
Capable of lifting up to 20kg (non‑repetitive) to move stock on trolleys for laboratory testing
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques
- Diploma of Laboratory Technology
- Degree or qualification in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology, or related field
- Previous laboratory testing experience is preferred; training can be provided
- Experience in food manufacturing or laboratory environments is desirable but not essential
