About The Position

Overall responsibility: independently conduct routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Operate and perform maintenance on AAS, ICP-AES and/or ICP-MS instruments.
  • Identify & correct QC related problems by ensuring the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards.
  • Evaluate data using instrument software and GEMS.
  • Use Microsoft Word & Excel to create written reports.
  • Prepare sample dilutions, instrument operating solutions and calibration standards.
  • Test and evaluate calibration standards.
  • Ensure all prepared and available samples are accounted for in the lab.
