Job Description
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Laboratory Attendant within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory. The National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL) plays an important role in the Irish Health Services as the principal diagnostic and reference service for clinicians investigating virus infections. The laboratory offers approximately 170 tests for the diagnosis of at least 45 different pathogens, and the current workload involves performing in excess of 1 million tests per annum. The laboratory provides a 24/7 clinical and technical on call service to deal with urgent testing requirements and to support the National Transplant Programme. The NVRL is accredited by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a National Laboratory for Poliovirus, Influenza, Measles and Rubella.
