Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Perform instrument maintenance and assist in the preparation of samples to be tested.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance on automated and manual equipment.
  • Accurately prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.
  • Perform test processing under the direction and supervision of a medical technologist that may include:Loading of samples into racksPlacing racks of samples onto instrumentsPipetting of samplesPerforming CLIA Waived testingEntering QC results and patient results
  • Assist in monitoring inventory.
  • Assist in the washing of laboratory glassware.
  • Perform the unpacking and restocking of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and solving problems.
  • Comply with CRL and departmental SOP’s.
  • Comply with OSHA and other safety manual procedures.
