Responsibilities
As a Laborer/Groundman, you are responsible for providing general labor for aerial and underground construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.
In addition, you will:
Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picksPerform fiber blowing operations as directed, assisting in the installation of fiber optic cable in conduits using fiber-blowing equipmentConduct general labor on construction sitesConduct placement of conduit as directed by the Foreman or SupervisorBe involved in map reading and directionsSupport with trench digging and closingSupport with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by the Foreman or SupervisorConduct maintenance services as directed by the Foreman to include: Cleanup, Wash Vehicles, and LandscapingPerform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipmentBe involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment, as directed and certifiedTow various trailers with flatbed trucksConduct Aerial/Underground work as needed and directed, and as trainedTroubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issuesConstruct and repair underground RF and Fiber serviceLearn how to read and construct from a design schematic of a mapLearn all the inventory and equipment required for these projectsAs applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment: Line truck, Bucket truck, Cable Reel equipment, Saws, and drillsClimb poles with climbing equipment safelyMove and relocate RF and Fiber serviceBe familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines Qualifications

Safety is a part of your day-to-dayYou have a track record of completing work with a high level of qualityYou have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your workYou are looking for long-term projectsYou enjoy getting your hands dirty with your teamYou have a valid Driver’s LicenseYou have a clean driving recordYou can lift and carry up to 70 lbsHave the ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build processAbility to read and understand design schematics and mapsClimbing certification or related experiencePractical working experience in overhead construction for both RF and FiberKnowledge of Overhead Bill of MaterialsCity, County, and State clearance code knowledge and relatedExtensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networksFlagger Certified for field work as neededExcellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment Compensation of $18-$22 per hour.
