Role Definition

Aventa is actively seeking to recruit a Land Installation Engineer on behalf of its client. Main activities include:

  • Knowledge of the transmission energy market and in particular the cable market in terms of Customers, Competitors and Subcontractors
  • Able to understand and utilise contractual specifications signed with Customer
  • Elaboration and Finalization of the technical implementation of the installation of the HV Land cable system 
  • Elaboration of the final technical installation documents / deliverables (General Arrangement / Layout drawings and Method statements / documents describing the installation method of the cable system in its installation environment (buried in trenches, in galleries, tunnels, underground electrical stations, etc.)
  • Development of necessary structures supporting the HV Cables and Accessories in joint bays environment or inside electrical substations.
  • Participation to clarifications meetings both internal and with Customer during tender preparation
  • Regular Site visits, to understand logistic aspects of the job, check feasibility of solutions, contacting potential subcontractors, e.g. for civil works, etc.
  • Preparation and issuing of technical specifications (RFQ) for the potential subcontractors
  • Examination of the received proposals from potential subcontractors from different points of view: technical, economical and for scheduling/timing of the work
  • Discussions with Subcontractors with the aim of clarifying offers and aligning them to/Customer requirements
  • Fine-tuning of the final solution in agreement/cooperation with all the relevant Department such as: System Design Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistic, HSE, Quality, Project Management.
  • Elaboration of the Installation Costs
  • Preparation of the Technical Description of the Work and the documentation requested by the Customer with regard to Installation matters.
  • Assembly and preparation of the Plan of Work with regard to the installation activities and provision of the necessary input to planners for the assembly of the overall POW.
  • Participation, when required, to negotiations and clarification meetings with the Customer after the presentation of the proposal.
  • Compliance with internal rules and procedures during the entire process

    • The expected results are:

    Ensure that the Project is well executed from a Land cables installation perspective according to the right customer specifications, within the budget and agreed time schedule, as per the Contract

    Qualification

  • Similar Experience in Civil Works, preferably in Infrastructures projects in Germany or in HV Land cable installation
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Fluent in German, written and spoken
  • Availability to short but possibly frequent trips
  • Flexibility
  • Team working capability
  • Problem solving and target oriented
  • Able to present and defend a contractual position in front of Subcontrators and Customers
  • Capability to set and to handle pragmatically the priorities
  • Capacity to understand and conceptualizes complexity into concise frameworks
  • Wish to quickly learn and get involved

    • Conditions

    Remote working may be possible during Engineering phase; local presence at least 4 days a week is mandatory during execution/construction phase.
