Summary Statement

An incumbent is involved in landscaping and grounds maintenance activities at the lead level overseeing and participating in the upkeep and beautification of campus grounds.

An incumbent in this class typically reports to a Landscape/Horticulture Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing and participating in planting, transplanting, cultivating, and maintenance of flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns. Concurrently, an incumbent provides landscape design of new planting areas and renovation of old areas; oversees greenhouse operations involving supply inventory, seeding, propagation, transplanting, insect and disease control, and fertilizing to ensure adequate bedding and plant supplies for use in campus display areas; and engages in special projects.
