Job Description
A Layout CAD Design Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing technical layouts and drawings using CAD software. The role requires close collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure that designs meet technical specifications, industry standards, and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Plant layout – Update, Create and Modify and upkeep the layout with proper revision controls
- Create Green field and Brown field proposals in Auto CAD, Review layout with management with various options, Presentation preparation, Layout Integration responsibility from various vendors
- Able to estimate the project costing
- Design Creation: Produce and update detailed 2 D/3 D layouts, drawings, floor plans, and specifications using CAD tools.
- Collaboration: Partner with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate design concepts into technical deliverables.
- Technical Adherence: Ensure all designs comply with technical specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of project drawings, revisions, and supporting documents.
- Review & Validation: Participate in design reviews, validate accuracy, and update designs as per feedback.
- Project Support: Provide support to project teams, mentor junior designers, and troubleshoot layout-related issues.
Essential Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in CAD software such as Auto CAD, Plant 3 D, Navis Works etc
- Familiarity with industry practices, engineering design principles, and emerging layout technologies.
- Good understanding of safety standards, Men and Material logistics, FAS Standards and requirements etc
- Collaboration & Communication: Effective interpersonal skills to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Project Management Support: Ability to monitor Site activities and site work progress, coordinate tasks, and support timely project delivery.
- Adaptability: Capacity to handle revisions, changing requirements, and evolving design standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma In Mechanical Engineering
- Several years of proven experience as a CAD Designer, CAD Operator, or Layout Engineer in a medium and large scale Industry.
