ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

We are seeking an experienced Lead Architect with strong Java development foundations and proven solution design expertise to join our technology team. This role goes beyond high-level design - you will act as the Technical Owner for one or more mission-critical application built on Java, AWS, and MongoDB, while also shaping new solutions for future customer and business needs.

As a Lead Architect, you will combine hands-on technical depth with architectural leadership, ensuring that systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with modern cloud-native principles. You will work closely with engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders, acting as the technical authority throughout the application lifecycle.

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Own the end-to-end technical architecture of existing applications built on Java, AWS, and MongoDB
  • Act as Technical Owner, responsible for architecture decisions, technical roadmap, and system health
  • Design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud-native solutions using AWS services
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, including design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance
  • Define and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices
  • Collaborate with product, delivery, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Identify and manage technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural debt
  • Support incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor engineers and promote strong engineering and DevOps practices
  • Qualifications

    ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

  • Strong background in Java development, with experience using Spring / Spring Boot
  • Proven experience in solution architecture or application architecture roles
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and security
  • Solid experience working with MongoDB, including data modeling and performance considerations
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with architectural leadership responsibilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience working in the aviation, travel, or transportation domain
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems to cloud-native architectures
  • Prior experience in customer-facing or pre-sales technical roles
