Why This Role Exists
The organisation is building a Auto IT Talent Hub to support its evolution into a regional software and digital engineering centre. This role sits at the centre of that initiative and is responsible for building talent capability systems, not running ad-hoc training.
What the Role Is Accountable For
- Creating a sustained pipeline of Auto IT talent across technician, graduate, and postgraduate levels
- Driving industry–academia collaboration, especially postgraduate Auto IT programs
- Translating future software-defined vehicle skill needs into actionable program
- Communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly to senior management
- Operating with ownership in ambiguous, first-of-its-kind initiative
- A PowerPoint-heavy strategy role with execution
Seniority & Experience Sweet Spot
• 4-7 years total experience
• Has owned initiatives end-to-end, not just supported them
• Comfortable influencing without formal authority
This is not a late-career role.
Ideal Backgrounds
• Automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, IT services, digital engineering firms
• Exposure to automotive software, embedded systems, cloud, or digital platforms
• Experience with talent programs, internal academies, university partnerships, or capability-building initiatives is a plus
Education (Flexible, Capability-First)
• Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory
• Strong alternative profiles with Applied Sciences, MCA, or deep hands-on technical credibility are acceptable
• Learning agility and system thinking matter more than degrees
