Overview
The Lead Civil Structural Engineer is responsible for performing the structural analysis of different Structural Systems and Components (SCC) in a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). They are responsible for understanding the interactions between different structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping components of a system. They apply theory, principles, data, and methods within the engineering design to perform the design of the structural systems and components.
Essential Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of senior and principal engineers, perform structural analysis of structural systems and components of a nuclear power plant
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis and ANSYS APDL tools to develop the structural demands on different structural components
- Perform seismic analysis and evaluation of different structural systems and components in NPPs
