Lead Data Scientist

Role Summary

We are looking for a Sr. Lead Data Scientist or Lead Data Scientist to solve complex healthcare data problems using applied machine learning and strong mathematical foundations.

In this role, you will work closely with product managers, data engineers, and clinicians to design, build, and deploy scalable ML solutions. You will also mentor data scientists and influence the technical direction of our AI platforms.

This is a hands-on leadership role , not a pure people management position.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply AI and ML techniques to interpret and solve complex healthcare problems.
• Build, deploy, and optimize ML models on large-scale datasets.
• Own solutions end to end, from problem formulation to production.
• Develop and enhance ML algorithms, tools, and platforms.
• Perform quantitative data analysis across structured and unstructured datasets.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain experts to deliver business impact.
• Contribute to applied machine learning research initiatives.
• Mentor and guide data scientists while maintaining high technical standards.

Desired Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related fields from a Tier 1 institute.
• 5 to 7 years of experience building predictive models on large datasets.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python or Scala .
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and underlying mathematics.
• Experience with analytics techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, and hypothesis testing.
• Knowledge of statistics, linear algebra, numerical optimization, and A/B testing.
• Familiarity with ML best practices, tooling, and model evaluation techniques.
• Ability to explain ML concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with ownership and independence.
