Purpose of the position

The Senior Data Analytics Engineer will function as a core technical lead within cKinetics’ consulting teams, driving the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics and data engineering solutions for sustainability and impact-focused engagements. The role is deeply hands-on, with responsibility for architecting and managing end-to-end data pipelines, ETL workflows, analytical models, and decision-support dashboards that integrate complex, multi-source structured and unstructured datasets.

The position includes building and technically leading a small team of 1–2 data analysts, with accountability for data quality, scalability, automation, and governance across project and internal systems. This role requires direct engagement with stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into robust technical solutions and to deliver high-quality and scalable consulting outputs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Analytics & Data Engineering for Consulting Engagements

a. Lead end-to-end data processing and analytics across sustainability projects and programmatic consulting engagements

b. Design and manage ETL workflows and data warehousing across multiple project and corporate data sources

c. Own and manage SQL-driven analytics on cKinetics’ proprietary analytics platform (comMIT – Zoho Analytics)

d. Work with large, complex, and cross-cutting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets, ensuring data quality, governance, and auditability

e. Apply advanced quantitative techniques using Excel, R, STATA, Python, or equivalent tools to derive insights, trends, and performance drivers

2. Performance Measurement & Reporting Frameworks

a. Develop analytical frameworks, metrics, and KPIs aligned with sustainability objectives, program logic, and reporting requirements

b. Design monitoring frameworks for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance tracking across projects and corporate functions

c. Support development of standardized reporting templates and analytics models for repeatable consulting use cases

3. Dashboarding, Visualization & Decision Support

a. Design and deliver high-quality dashboards using Power BI and Zoho Analytics for clients, program teams, and leadership

b. Integrate dashboards with automated data pipelines, APIs, and workflows

c. Translate analytical outputs into clear, decision-ready insights through dashboards, presentations, and written consulting outputs

d. Support scenario analysis, performance deep-dives, and ad-hoc analytical requests across engagements

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Support

a. Serve as the primary analytics and data systems interface for consulting engagements, working closely with project managers, clients, and partners

b. Support client discussions by explaining analytical approaches, assumptions, and insights in a clear, non-technical manner

c. Identify opportunities where data, automation, or analytics can strengthen program design, implementation, and decision-making

d. Coordinate with IT teams, web developers, and external vendors for system integrations and analytics enhancements

5. Team Leadership & Quality Assurance

a. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality review for analyst-level team members

b. Establish and enforce best practices for SQL development, data cleaning, dashboard design, documentation, and version control

c. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of analytical outputs across engagements and internal systems

6. Internal Systems & Firm-Level Analytics

a. Lead analytics and dashboarding support for internal management information systems, including HR, Finance, Operations, Payroll, Leave, and Expense tracking

b. Collaborate with internal teams to improve data automation, reporting efficiency, and management visibility

Candidate Requirements

Educational Qualifications

Postgraduate degree or MBA in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related technical discipline

Prior exposure to sustainability, climate, or impact-related domains is a strong advantage

Professional Experience

5–8 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or consulting environments

Demonstrated experience supporting multiple consulting engagements or stakeholders in parallel and proven track record of delivering analytics, dashboards, and insights for senior decision-makers

Core Technical Capabilities

Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, data validation, and scalable data modelling.

Strong hands-on experience with Zoho Analytics and MS office suite

Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including macros, VBA, and analytics tools and framework development

Strong experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and interactive dashboard creation.

Working knowledge of R, STATA, or Python for quantitative analysis.

Basic understanding of UI/UX principles for analytics tools and data collection interfaces.

Exposure to GIS datasets, IoT/BMS data, automation workflows, and API-based integrations.

Strong data governance, validation, and documentation skills.

Familiarity with sustainability metrics, indicators, and reporting frameworks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
