Job Description: Lead DevSecOps Engineer

As a DevSecOps engineer, your typical week would include the following

  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure for Prudential Health India, including all aspects of DevSecOps e.g. release management, infrastructure provisioning through CI / CD tools, monitoring & alerting of application, database management, infrastructure security and site reliability engineering.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering, to deployment to production, to triaging production issues, to proactive monitoring.
  • Design, develop, unit test and implement pipeline and infrastructure programs that support high availability (5 9’s uptime), flex scalability, reliability (instant failover to BCP/DR) with latency to be 99th percentile being less than 30ms.
  • Come up with desired sets of standards to be followed to build and deploy backend and frontend continuously and seamlessly.
  • Conceptualize and incorporate reusable pipelines and infrastructure development frameworks.
  • Create specifications and detailed plans, write code, own unit, performance and functional testing and debugging, and play an active role in the rollout and launch.
  • Work in close collaboration with other engineers, designers, R&D, analysts, product managers and other teams and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes for the company.
  • Required to forecast, budgeting and optimize software license & infrastructure costs.
  • Manage multiple interfaces (internal and external), relationship and communication to ensure systems are running and available.
  • Mentor and upskill other technical staff on DevSecOps principles.
  • Develop capabilities ingrained with enough intelligence around user activities and usage 100% adherence to enable user behavioural analytics using events and crashalytics

  • Have experience of 7-12 years in DevSecOps & site reliability in building and managing infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to support massively large-scale distributed internet systems and products in multi-cloud infrastructure (GCP and Azure).
  • Have worked and experience delivering in any one of the domains like health or life insurance, wellness, payments, financial services ecommerce, insurance core systems, health tech, insure tech, tele-sales & non voice customer servicing platforms, loyalty platforms
  • Hands-on DevSecOps-engineering experience and demonstrable body of work (Min. 7 years)
  • Comfortable working closely with stake-holders across teams / BU (Product / Dev / Assurance / Security / Infrastructure) and has a strong sense of ownership.
  • Extensive experience in Azure, AWS cloud technologies and well versed with best practices around Networking, Security , Capacity Planning and Cost optimization techniques.
  • Should be hands-on currently and can provide guidance to the teams on DevOps tools independently.
  • Should be able to setup and build processes and tools for release management, infrastructure provisioning, alerting, monitoring and uptime.
  • Good depth in understanding of Container technologies and Kubernetes eco-system and tools like GKE/AKE etc.
  • Should be able to manage and operate NoSQL databases using best practices. Good to have prior experience in managing and tuning databases.

  • Demonstrable experience building high performance & highly available enterprise platforms catering to millions of daily traffic with 24 X 7 service stability/availability to end users/customers.
  • Experience in building and scaling infrastructure using technologies like TerraForm, Google Cloud Deployment Manager etc.
  • Understanding of High Availability / DR design with Uptime / MTTR / MTTD / MTTF.
  • Prior experience in tools like Kafka & Zookeeper and monitoring rollout tools such as Prometheus and Elasticsearch.
  • Prior experience in driving the Audit process is a plus.
  • Superior organization, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of managing critical IT stack with high level of vigilance implemented using automated monitoring and self-healing technologies.
