Hydra Search have partnered up with a boutique building services consultancy located in Perth, WA that provides personalised service, flexibility, and a focus on client interests. The company combines industry-leading experience and technical capability in all core building services disciplines to deliver a coordinated multi-discipline service.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with the ability to apply technical expertise in a way that balances commercial profitability, QA adherence, risk management and project leadership. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, exceptional time management and clear communication skills with all members of project teams.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical design, documentation, and contract administration.
  • Undertake design tasks in accordance with relevant codes, NCC and company standards/briefs.
  • Contribute to the development and constant improvement of internal processes such as design and calculation tools.
  • Engage clients proactively.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 8+ years’ experience of electrical services design for buildings in Australia.
  • Experience with electrical design software tools such as PowerCAD, Dialix, AGI
  • Proficient in general design tools such as Bluebeam and MS Office.
  • Skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks are strongly desirable but not required.
  • Knowledge in National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with liaising with Clients and Business Development responsibilities
  • Ability to win and deliver projects
  • Diverse experience in a range of project types.
  • Experience in healthcare projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers.

Education & Experience

  • Hold a recognised Tertiary Engineering Qualification or other relevant qualification
