What you will be doing:
Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment including transformers, bus, cb control, distribution feeders, etc.Review protection and control design packagesProvide remote field support to the relay test engineers during installation of settingsModel electrical systems in power simulation programs like CAPE, ASPEN & CYMECreate thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculationsContinuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performanceMentoring and training less experienced engineers in power engineering theories and principlesWhat we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering8+ years of experience developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission, sub-transmission or distribution equipment including transmission lines, transformers, bus, breaker control, capacitor banks, distribution feeders, etc8+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principlesWhat we would like you to have:
Professional Engineering license in at least one stateExperience with 69kV viper recloser applicationsExperience in IEC 61850 communication protocolAdvanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and/or AccessAbility to plan and manage assignments and clearly communicate barriers to complete tasks on budget/scheduleUse computer software tools to model engineering problems, program automation systems, prepare spreadsheet-based analyses and automationExperience with developing settings for Schweitzer relaysExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsAbility to work remotely without supervisionInitiative to embrace continuous learning toward becoming an expert on the programs and technology you representStrong organizational skills#GEA25
