ECG Engineering Pty Ltd is a leader in electrical engineering, delivering design and project delivery services to the mining, utilities, materials handling and industrial sectors across Australia and worldwide. With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Manila and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, ECG designs and delivers complex projects from early study work through commissioning and handover.

We require a Lead Estimator to manage and coordinate estimating across multiple complex engineering projects in various minerals on multiple continents. The role suits an estimator with 12 to 20+ years of experience, possessing a passion for working in a major project environment and being part of the team that pulls the project bids and estimates together.

The ideal applicant will have extensive estimating experience in electrical / power systems, instrumentation packages, and complex electrical controls in mineral and metal and energy projects in Australia and around the world.

Integral to the role is the ability to collate accurate electrical material take‑offs and evaluate, identify scope anomalies and complexities through simple and complex electrical drawings.

ECG is extensively involved in the renewable space; most project work evaluates the renewable option as a client priority.

Ideal Key Experience

• Experience preparing estimates / bids for electrical (HV & LV), instrumentation and complex electrical controls
• Experience producing fixed lump sum enquiries and presenting the estimate through a formal review process with management approval prior to submission
• Experience in engineering consultancy bids and studies in mining, resources and energy projects in Australia and, ideally, overseas (Africa)
• Construction experience and understanding the processes and linkages

Skills and Attributes

• Engineering, business, legal or construction economics degree
• Strong financial and Excel skills
• Microsoft proficiency specifically Excel
• Project management aptitude
• Ultra positive work attitude, keen to work in a fast‑paced role where organization is critical
