Wood India Consulting division is currently recruiting for a Lead flow assurance engineer for our Chennai office. This is a management role, providing technical leadership to our 25-member flow assurance team, collaborating to win new business, and leading project execution. 


Due to the nature of the role, it must be based in our Chennai office on a full-time basis.


The Role


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technical professional within Flow Assurance to utilise their knowledge and experience to develop the technical capability of the Flow assurance team in our engineering centre in Chennai.


The successful candidate will train and mentor the team, and lead projects on the assessment of fluid flow within oil and gas production systems, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted transport from the reservoir to processing facilities. Additionally, the principal engineer will contribute to best practices and plays a key role in technical decision making and innovation.


The ideal candidate will have significant proven working knowledge and expertise in flow assurance projects across the Energy sector within a global fast-paced consulting environment and be passionate about developing people.

Our Production Optimisation team are part of our Digital consulting business unit. We support our clients to secure economic recovery from existing infrastructure, optimising assets and enabling extension of productive field life whilst accelerating the move towards net Zero. The work we do predominately enables Energy security whilst we transition. However, we are also growing our services across Carbon Capture Utilisation and storage and transportation of Hydrogen and Ammonia.

     Expected:

  • Significant proven working experience in flow assurance engineering, with international consulting experience
  • Hand-on experience in using flow assurance related simulation tools like OLGA, PIPESIM, SPS, PIPENET, Ledaflow, TLNET, TGNET. Desirable to have experience with process dynamic simulation tools like ASPEN HYSYS, UNISIM
  • Results-oriented and assertive to represent Chennai office clients effectively
  • Proven ability to complete complex projects on time and within budget
  • Empathetic and positive, with a genuine interest in understanding and meeting client needs 
  • Previous experience managing a team of Flow Assurance engineers at varying levels, responsible for all aspects of recruitment, training and development
  • Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Engineering degree required; postgraduate qualifications preferred
  • Strong professional relationship-building skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; other languages are advantageous 
  • Critical thinker with problem solving abilities
  • Pragmatic in approach with a strong commercial understanding and ability to balance commerciality with operational excellence
  • Customer focused – develops trust-based relationships with customers, current and potential; listens to customer needs and constantly striving to exceed expectations and add value
