Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Lead Software testing Engineer to join the Digital Engineering team, within the Ferguson IT organization. This position will involve testing of small to medium size software enhancements and bug fixes. The ideal candidate will have experience with testing application software, leading teams along with strong social skills to connect with both technical and non-technical associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce QA engineers, setting a clear quality vision, standards, and delivery benchmarks across programs.
  • Define and own the Salesforce QA strategy covering Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and enterprise integrations.
  • Architect and scale a robust automated regression framework for Salesforce UI, APIs, and integrations.
  • Establish a balanced manual + automation testing model based on release velocity, risk profile, and business criticality.
  • Partner closely with Salesforce Architects, Developers, Product Owners, and DevOps to embed quality across the SDLC and Agile delivery.
  • Own release readiness, defect triage, and final quality sign-off for Salesforce production deployments.
  • Define and track Salesforce quality KPIs such as defect leakage, regression stability, automation coverage, and release confidence.
  • Lead enterprise-wide regression planning and execution for Salesforce seasonal releases and large transformation programs.
  • Establish and enforce Salesforce testing best practices, including data strategy, environment management, and test governance.
  • Good to have: Lead or hands-on testing experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC / Demandware) including automation of cart, checkout, promotions, and order flows.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6-9 years software testing experience, preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce and its SDLC, various testing concepts (Automation and Regression testing.) and software quality assurance standard processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and non-written formats.
  • Proactive communicator who gains consensus and brings up issues as appropriate to keep projects on schedule.
  • Good communication and social skills, attention to detail.
