Job Description

Academics are an education recruitment agency working with a primary school in Barry to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with high tariff additional learning needs (ALN). This position starts in February 2026 and will run on a temporary basis, with potential for long-term continuation depending on funding and pupil progress.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs , which may include learning difficulties, communication challenges, and behaviour regulation

  • Working closely with the class teacher , ALNCo , and external specialists to implement an individualised learning and behaviour support plan
