Purpose and Scope
We are seeking a dynamic legal professional to join our Renewable Energy business in India. The role involves providing strategic and operational legal support across various facets of renewable energy projects especially for projects being undertaken in Middle East market. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in contract law, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution within the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including:
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts
Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) supply agreements
Solar module supply agreements
Bid-related documentation and consortium agreement.
Procurement Legal Support
Lead legal review and negotiations of procurement contracts and vendor agreements.
Ensure alignment with internal procurement policies and risk mitigation strategies.
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure all business operations comply with applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Provide legal guidance on renewable energy and hydrogen project frameworks, including environmental and safety regulations.
Risk & Dispute Management
Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions.
Support pre-dispute resolution strategies and manage external counsel when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
9–13 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of energy laws, contract law, and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with business, technical, and legal teams.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in renewable energy or emerging clean energy technologies.
Exposure to international contracting standards and multi-jurisdictional legal issues.
Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to legal problem-solving.
