Position: Head – Liaisoning & Legal
Organization: Pathways World School, Gurgaon (Unit of RPJ Holdings Pvt. Ltd.)
Location: Corporate Office, MG Road, Sultanpur, New Delhi
Reporting To: CFO & Promoter Directors
Role Overview
We are looking for a senior professional to head the Legal, Compliance & Liaisoning function. The ideal candidate will come with strong hands-on experience in real estate, education, hospitality, or service industries, having dealt extensively with government authorities in Haryana & Delhi NCR.
The role will involve overseeing all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters while ensuring smooth liaisoning with multiple departments including Education, Labour, Land Revenue, Town & Country Planning, Urban Local Bodies, Pollution Control Board, Environment and Forest, District Administration, Municipal Corporations, Police, and other local/state bodies.
This position demands excellent stakeholder management, dispute-handling abilities, and practical knowledge of various laws and regulations, contractor/vendor disputes, and statutory compliances relevant to large institutions, schools, and infrastructure-driven organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Government Liaisoning & Regulatory Affairs
- Act as the principal point of contact for the organization with state and central government bodies, district authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Liaison with departments such as Education, Labour, Land Revenue, Town & Country Planning, Urban Local Bodies, Pollution Control Board, Environment and Forest, District Administration, Municipal Corporations, Police, and other local/state bodies.
- Proactively track and interpret policy/regulatory changes in Haryana & Delhi.
- Obtain and renew approvals, licenses, permits, and clearances on a timely basis.
Labour Law & Dispute Management
- Handle disputes and compliance related to labour laws, employee grievances, contractor/vendor issues, PF/ESI matters, and disciplinary cases.
- Represent the organization before labour authorities, conciliators, or courts when required.
- Provide advisory on employee/contractor-related litigation and ensure timely resolution.
Contracts, Legal & Compliance
- Draft, vet, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Manage all litigation including civil, labour, arbitration, and commercial disputes.
- Ensure statutory compliance across all applicable laws.
- Build preventive mechanisms and strategies for legal risk mitigation.
Candidate Profile
Education
Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
Experience
- 10–15 years of hands-on experience in Legal & Liaisoning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Preferred industries: Real Estate, Education, Hotels/Hospitality, or Large Service-sector organizations.
- Proven track record of relationship building and liaisoning in Haryana and Delhi NCR.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent government liaisoning and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of labour laws, service industry contracts, land revenue matters, environmental and municipal compliances etc.
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills
- Sharp negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and deliver results within timelines.
Other Details
- Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday (2nd & 4th Saturday off).
- Travel: Frequent local travel in Delhi & Haryana; occasional visits to government/state headquarters.
- Commute: Employee must commute in own vehicle.
- CTC Range: ₹12 – 18 LPA (not a limiting factor for the right candidate).
