Responsibilities

• Creating a welcoming atmosphere in the library
• Developing and maintaining a collection of books
• Organizing and cataloguing books, periodicals, audio-visual materials and other electronic resources
• Creating online databases
• Helping patrons find information resources
• Organizing book readings, lectures, workshops and other events
• Updating library records
• Managing circulation desk activities including issuing library cards, registering new memberships, tracking fines and loan periods
• Ensuring that materials are properly shelved or stored in the appropriate area
