Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Community, Culture & Libraries, you will be the front‑facing contact for library patrons, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment. This role combines high‑quality customer service with vital administrative and operational support to keep our library thriving.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering professional and effective service to all library users by leveraging your knowledge of library collections.
- Performing circulation tasks, including managing memberships, lending, renewals, and processing overdue enquiries.
- Managing financial transactions, such as receipting, reconciling daily monies, and generating reports.
- Providing digital and technical support, helping patrons navigate the internet, public computers, Wi‑Fi, and digital library applications.
- Assisting with collection maintenance, including shelving, tidying, and coordinating engaging library displays.
- Enhancing community literacy, by supporting users with the online catalogue and self‑service kiosks.
- Maintaining accurate records of business activities within the Corporate Record Management system.
The location for this role is the Moree Community Library, Moree.
About You
You are an organised and adaptable individual who can communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You have a strong commitment to user‑focused service and can maintain a professional demeanour in all situations.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Certificate III in Business Administration and/or relevant work experience in administration support or customer service.
- Digital literacy across various platforms, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Sound problem‑solving skills with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team in an environment of changing priorities.
- Previous experience in a public or academic library.
- Experience with Spydus Library Management System.
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Required Clearances and Checks
- Working with Children Check.
- Pre‑employment medical, which may include drug and alcohol testing.
