Job Summary
Under the direction of the Principal or designate, the Library Technician will provide technical and public services and perform other duties related to library operations such as organize, maintain, select, order, circulate print and non-print materials, provide reference services, research and prepare support materials for units of study, and perform public relations, supervisory and clerical activities. Qualifications Diploma in Library and Information Technician, and 1 to 2 years of library experience. Understanding of Cataloguing and classification systems. Research skills required; Proficiency in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets and databases), ability to perform internet searches and use research tools. Experience operating and maintaining library software. Organizational skills required to schedule classes/small groups and prioritize concurrent tasks and deadlines.
