• The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience across various healthcare settings including geriatrics, acute care, and specialized nursing.
• This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse clinical environments, utilizing advanced skills such as IV infusion, medication administration, and patient assessment, while providing compassionate care to a wide range of patient populations.
• The position requires proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and adherence to HIPAA regulations, ensuring high standards of confidentiality and quality care.
• Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations.
• Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders and protocols.
• Manage IV infusions, catheter care, and tube feeding procedures with aseptic technique.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and sterile processing as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as blood draws (venipuncture), specimen collection, and processing.
• Monitor patients on ventilators or with respiratory needs; manage airway and oxygen therapy.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, Epic, or Athenahealth.
• Provide education on health coaching, discharge planning, and chronic disease management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure infection control practices are maintained according to facility standards.
• Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s care, behavioral health needs, or developmental disabilities as required.
• Requirements Valid LPN license in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in settings such as long-term care, hospice, ICU, emergency room, or medical-surgical units.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding and medical terminology; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, Epic, eClinicalWorks; experience with medical imaging or lab processing is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and infection control protocols.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, and other technical skills confidently.
• Excellent patient assessment skills; compassionate approach to senior care or pediatric patients including neonatal ventilator management or toddler/neonatal care experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
• Flexibility to adapt to various clinical environments; travel nursing experience is desirable but not required.
