Mandala is an independent, award-recognised lighting design studio based in New Delhi, established in 2006 by Manav Bhargava. The studio works with both artificial and daylight, engaging with light as an architectural and experiential medium

LIGHTING DESIGNER

Role Description

At Mandala, a Lighting Designer carries defined parts of lighting design projects from concept through to execution, while working closely with senior designers to maintain design intent and project continuity.

The role holds responsibility for design development, production, and documentation, and marks the transition from contribution into authorship.

You Will

• Contribute to lighting design development across project stages
• Translate concepts into drawings, simulations, and presentations
• Support site execution, aiming, focusing, and commissioning
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and internal teams
• Participate in design reviews and project discussions
• Maintain clarity and continuity in assigned project tasks

You Are

• Comfortable working within a team structure
• Open to learning and taking increasing responsibility
• Clear and respectful in communication and coordination
• Open to learning, growth, and gradually taking greater ownership
• Focused on design quality and careful execution

Your Background

• Formal education in lighting design, architecture, interior design, or related fields
• minimum 1 year of experience in lighting design
• Exposure to architectural and interior lighting projects
• Strong working proficiency in CAD, Photoshop and Dialux EVO
• Strong architectural drawing, sketching and presentation skills
• Architectural rendering software experience is an advantage
